Governance
ASSPIN asks members to trust it with the documents and circumstances that determine their right to remain somewhere. That obligation is only meetable if the organization can say plainly how it is run and who checks it.
Leadership
ASSPIN is led by its Founder and President, who holds permanent executive leadership subject to applicable law, the organization’s governing documents, fiduciary duties and regulatory requirements. This is set out in the founding charter rather than asserted in marketing.
Separation of duties
Founder authority and operational accountability are different things, and the platform enforces the difference rather than describing it.
In ASSPIN’s permission model, the Founder and President role carries broad operational authority — and deliberately does not carry three things:
- Break-glass vault access. The ability to open a member’s stored documents belongs to the Security Officer alone, requires a written justification, and is recorded before the document is read.
- Security administration. Security configuration and session administration sit with the Security Officer.
- Identity evidence. Opening the passport or permit attached to a verification request is a separate permission again.
An Independent Auditor role reads across the organization and changes nothing. These separations protect the founder as much as the institution: a founder who cannot open a member’s passport scan cannot be accused of having done so.

Chapters
Real local autonomy, inside standards that are not a chapter’s to redefine.
Every chapter has an appointed Coordinator and operates under the global charter. A chapter decides what its members need locally; it does not decide member rights, data protection, safeguarding, financial controls, professional ethics, the legal-service boundary or security requirements.
That is enforced structurally: a chapter record in ASSPIN has no policy fields at all. There is nowhere for a chapter to express a different rule, which is a stronger guarantee than a policy document. ASSPIN Global can suspend or revoke a charter for serious violations.
What ASSPIN will not become
- A political party or campaign.
- An unlicensed law firm or financial-advice company.
- A surveillance database.
- A company that sells member information.
- A job board with a membership fee.
- A charity wholly dependent on donations.
Reporting concerns
Members may report fraud, abuse, discrimination or safeguarding concerns, including about ASSPIN itself or a chapter officer. Safeguarding reports are routed away from the chapter they concern and are visible only to safeguarding officers. Retaliation against a member for reporting is a breach of the code of conduct.
